Cheetah Mounts APTMM2B Tilt Wall Mount for 32"-55" Plasma and LCD TVs and Displays

Why anyone would pay over $100 in a store for a mount is beyond me. I guess people believe that you have to pay for reliability. But nothing could be further from the truth.
This is the second Cheetah mount that I have installed. The first was for a lighter Vizio 32 inch LCD. No problems with that mount so I decided to try Cheetah again for an 81 lbs. 42 inch Samsung plasma.
I wasn't sure about the design of this model considering you have to assemble it. The first mount, like most, was made like a flat plate that could distribute the weight of a TV to all four bolts screwed into the wall studs. Although it looks like this model could not do the same, when assembled, the vertical bars are more than capable of spreading the weight to the bottom horizontal bar. Also, the unit is considerably sturdy after assembly.
I noticed that there were complaints about missing pieces and the built-in bubble level. I purchased my own lag screws to bolt it onto the wall and I would never trust a built-in level (since the one that was built-in came cracked open, I didn't have to worry about it anyway).
A major advantage to the design of this mount is the open back. I was able to install an outlet box between the top and bottom bars. All of my connections (power, two cable lines, and two telephone lines) come in directly behind the TV. With the addition of a cable management track, this looks like an almost professional install. I have not seen mounts that give you the ability to install an outlet box in this fashion.
The looks can be very deceiving with this mount. Rest assured, this mount is more than capable.

Just wanted to say this thing was pretty simple to install and works beautifully. This was my first time installing a wall mount TV and it took 1.5 hours taking my time. I am using it with my Vizio 47 inch HDTV. I would HIGHLY suggest this item!!!

I've heard of actual friends and acquaintances paying up to $300 for an LCD TV mount! I got this one for $27 twice. It's a piece of cake to put together and install on the wall. After I put it on the wall, I do a few lat pull ups to make sure it can handle the weight. My only advice is if you must connect wires to the back of your TV, then do so before you hang it up.

easy to install. fit my tv perfect. had to buy different size screws, but only $1.00 for (4). would recommend for purchase

I purchased my 50 inch plasma at Best Buy and saw their wall mounts for as much as $400. I knew I could get a better deal online but was shocked to see one this cheap! After reading review, I felt confident and made the purchase.

My only complaints are:
Instrutions are worthless. It is simle enough to figure out after playing with it for a while but instructions would be nice.
The "built in level" is also worthless. I used my own level to get it up and the built in has the bubble way off to the side.

Other than that, the mount is great. I feel confident that it is sturdy enough, had solid bolts for installation and installation was easy enough. I put it up by myself with little difficulty.

One suggestion, have the TV ready to go before mounting. Once its up there, it is very hard to get to anything behind the TV.
