Lafuma Women's LD Xlight Md OT Trail Shoe

I discovered the Lafuma brand in Forks, WA. My busy self forgot to update my too-small trail shoes before visiting Yosemite. My sneakers just did not cut it. A week later in Forks, WA, waiting for my kayak tour, I discovered these shoes in the Peak 6 Adventure store. The twin lacing system is a godsend: it lets you adjust the toe box independently of the rest of the lacing. So my narrow feet can have a snug lace around the foot, while my toes have plenty of room to spread.

The support is great, too, especially for my arches, which tire quickly. The shoe is stiff, but not unbendable. It pads and cups my ankle, providing more support than a sneaker, but less than a full-fledged hiking boot. And it's waterproof. It's my go-to shoe now for everything from long days on my feet in the city or rain on the way to work to rigorous day-long hikes outdoors. I'm online now trying to find a second pair before Lafuma changes their line. (I inevitably look to replace an item just after it's been discontinued or "updated" in some way that I dislike.)

Good job, Lafuma! You'll be on my radar for a long time.

It looks well and walks well, but it is very very difficult for me to get in.......
