Not impressed
2008-10-15The powder smelled funny and I also noticed that my skin was red after I applied it. I don't have sensitive skin so this was unusual.

Love this stuff!
2008-07-21I've been a BE fan for years. It's the first make-up I've ever used that doesn't make my sensitive skin break out. I'd also found a pretty good acne system that was keeping my skin under control - until I got pregnant. Very quickly I had a nice crop on my upper chest & chin and random zits just kept popping up all over my face. I tried this on a whim, and have been amazed. The first day I put it on, I noticed an immediate reduction in redness around all of my blemishes. Within a couple of days, the current ones were in "remission." So long as I use it daily, it's a great tool to keep my break-outs under control; I do notice a big, negative difference if I skip a day on the weekend, though. I treat the new ones as soon as I see them developing and this stuff really does fight them off! I'm hooked.

A lot for the money!
2008-07-19I bought this product as soon as it came out and have been very happy with it. Don't be fooled by the small container. . . this little bit will go a long way. I like that it has the covering aspect to it. This is a good match with the Rare Minerals overnight powder as well.

Don't expect a miracle cure for anything
2008-07-11This product works wonders on problem areas and helps keep them relatively oil and acne free. In addition to spot-treating, I usually wipe some on a clean, soft brush (NOT the same one you use for your foundation, or you'll contaminate it) and just wipe a thin layer on all over my face underneath my foundation. As far as I can tell, this has significantly helped my problem areas, and reduced outbreaks and blackheads as well. It probably won't work for everyone because nothing does, but I would definitely recommend at least trying it, because I love it.

I Love It!
2008-07-11I see that this product works for some and not for others, so the reviews would probably be more helpful if this product were a book or something.
I personally have had great success with this product. I have had problems with acne since the birth of my first child. I have tried many of the different acne products like ProActive and Murad with no success. This product, however, has given me amazing results and for the first time since babies, I have clear skin. I think this product is great. The smell, to me, is an herbal smell.
I've also reviewed the other RareMineral products because I use the Facial Cleanser and the Skin Revival Treatment along with the Blemish Therapy as an entire skincare regime. I've used these things together less than a week (I've had the Nighttime Revival Treatment for awhile) and I can't tell you how much of a difference it's had on my skin. I am very happy with this product!

Sexy Style Tips for All Hair Types
Not all hairstyles work for everyone. Techniques that work for some textures may not work for others. The key is to figure out what works best for your hair type. Here, stylist Vernell Hooker shares his tricks of the tress trade in an excerpt from Universal Beauty: The Miss Universe Guide to Beauty from (Rutledge Hill Press).
Natalie Glebova's lustrous locks didn't single-handedly score her the crown in Bangkok — but they sure didn't hurt. Farouk Systems hair stylist Vernell Hooker, who worked his magic on the raven-haired Canadian beauty, explains how he did it.

Step 1: Pump It Up
Every hairstyle falls a bit during the pageant, but Natalie's super-straight tresses were especially vulnerable. So Hooker started by building a sturdy foundation with a good spritzing of volumizer (in this case, Farouk Systems Infratexture) at the roots.
Step 2: Turn Up the Heat

Keeping African-American Hair in Shape
Wendy Fitzwilliam, winner of Miss Universe 1998 counters the damaging effects of chemical processing by treating her tresses right. Here, she shares her tips for maintaining her mane in an excerpt from Universal Beauty: The Miss Universe Guide to Beauty (Rutledge Hill Press).
Like many Trinidadians, Wendy Fitzwilliam has some African ancestry, which means her tresses demand tender loving care. "It's a running joke that black women obsess about their hair," says Wendy. "We do to some extent, but that's because it's just not as versatile in its natural state as Caucasian or Asian hair." Because Wendy typically likes to go flowing and straight, she has her hair chemically straightened or relaxed once every eight weeks by the same seasoned professional she's been seeing for years. "My hair is very fine, so to keep it from drying out, I'll only trust stylists who are great at applying chemicals to black hair," she says. Here are four more ways Wendy keeps her mane in shape.
