Great Product! Fast!!
2008-08-31Great Product!! Fast syncing!!! Using it as a portable hard drive for my Numark Idj2!! You have to use a usb y cable though to make it work. but if your just using as backup, the normal 1 head usb sufficiently powers the drive. very satisfied! good job toshiba!
Very Poor Operation
2008-08-24What a piece of junk. I read all these glowing reviews and purchased the product. The first time I tried to copy multiple files, an error message displayed about half way through that the "path was too deep" for a file and the copy operation stopped though there was no indication that the remaining files had also been left uncopied. I then tried the remaining files one at a time and they copied okay. Naive me, I decided to install the software, thinking that would correct the problem. Same thing. When multiple files were scheduled for backup, same problem and no message to indicate the remaining files were not copied. Just now, I downloaded pictures from my camera to my hard drive, then tried to copy them to this Toshiba external hard drive only to have one fail with the same error message. Incidentally ALL of these files were copied to a CD with no problems and no error messages. In my opinion, this product is completely unreliable and cannot be depended on for backup. The only good thing I've found is the files this device decided to accept were compatible with another computer.
Excellent For iTunes
2008-08-23I basically got this for my music library...I have a Toshiba Laptop with a 120 GB HDD and that was getting filled up quickly, so I decided that 160 GB was just perfect for my music. I also install some large computer games on it and they work great too...if you have a Toshiba Laptop then this should work (and look) flawlessly...No software to install, just plug and play...simple, easy...
Good Little External Drive
2008-08-23I am very pleased with my purchase. This little sleak external hard drive is just what I wanted to save all my eBooks and files on. My daughter was impressed with the small size and called hers "clunky". It works great with either my laptop or desk computer. I would recommend it.
