This item is total junk. I purchased and within weeks, the wires were coming through the insulation. Now the case is cracked and the adapter only works if I tap on it. Also, this gets real hot. The Dell one that came with my Inspiron worked for four years before fraying. I just ordered a new one from Dell to replace this junk.
