Love this grip!
2010-03-09The best accessory I have bought! Better than any lens. Gives me more than enough power for any occasion. I have taken 500 pictures and not even dented the power yet. Yes, most were outside not using the flash. But still, I am extremely satisfied with this product. And even happier that I bought here for $75.00 less than Canon sells for.

BG-E5 Canon Battery Grip
2010-02-20The BG-E5 battery grip fits securely and firmly onto both the XSi and T1i cameras. Since the Rebel series cameras are smaller than the larger 40D/50D versions, some users that require firmer grip, stable handling, or are in want of a fuller feel to their Rebels, this may be a good purchase for them. In terms of battery life, with two battery packs fully charged, I can literally shoot for almost 2 weeks straight without a charge to either pack, granted that I cycled my packs before taking them on a trip to Ireland & France. The shutter button on the grip is not as sensitive as most grips (like my 7D grip in which I need to barely press the shutter release and it will immediately take the shot). The BG-E5 has similar button format as the Rebel main body and is very convenient. Overall feel is stable and provides ample balance. I would recommend to users to try out this grip somehow to see if it fits your needs, as it does add a bit of weight to the overall combination but in my opinion aids my grip on the camera, as well as improve battery supply. I am satisfied with the purchase.

Great Battery Grip / Improved handling of my XSi
2010-02-08I was doing the research on whether or not to get a canon grip for my XSi, which will fit a T1i, and I eventually settled for the Canon brand, basically because of some of the horror stories about "Grips-Gone-Bad". And after a while I kept hearing about the wheel on third party grips feeling a little weird compared to the wheel on the camera. So on a whim I hit order on my Amazon page and the new Canon grip was at my door in a couple of days. I am not able to critique the third party grips, but as far as my Canon grip, there are NO REGRETS from me. Yes I may have paid about $100 US Dollars for mine, but that was only about 30 more than the Opteka grip I would have spent. The one story that got me hooked on the original Canon Grip, was the on with the battery traces on the third party grips shorting, there is a pic on the web about that, the words SHORTING and my XSI are two words I rather not hear in the same sentence.

Appreciative Novice
2010-01-09I am HIGHLY satisfied with this grip. It adds some much needed weight to the lightweight T1i/500D body. Second to none for any portrait shots. This grip does not come with a battery, but for most users, a standard Caneon LP-E5 battery, which charges in two hours, will work most adequately. there is a handy compartment design that allows the original bttery cover, which must be removed, to be hiddin in the original battery chamber. the secondary bettery carriage, which is designed to hold six AA batteries is very helpful for moments when your charge goes out or if you missed a charging session, though not practical for continud use as AA's are expensive over time. This Canon BG-E5 has passed with flying colors. a true must have.

Canon BG-E5 battery grip
2009-12-26This is an excellent addition to the Canon Xsi camera, it makes it much easier to hold the camera, especially in portrait view.Has a handy hidden storage place for the battery lid that you have to remove to fit the unit.

Laptop Scaling
Intel's Core 2 Duo is easily the best mobile processor on the market today, boasting sky-high performance and low power consumption. But which CPU is for you: the super expensive T7600, the bargain-priced T5500, or something in between?
This article will first take a look at the various versions of Core 2 Duo that Intel has to offer. We will compare Core 2 Duo clocked at four speed grades: 2.33GHz, 2.16GHz, 2GHz, and 1.83GHz in a variety of benchmarks and let you know how to get your best bang for the buck.
Note: We will refer to a Core 2 Duo “T7000multiple times in this article. We were unable to get a Merom sample with 2MB L2 cache, thus we lowered the clock speed of our 4MB L2 model to 1.83GHz to perform near that of the T5600 (1.83GHz, 2MB L2 cache), resulting in our unofficial “T7000nomenclature.

Digital camera batteries
Batteries are vital for all photography and makiing sure that you have a spare set is essential if you intend to take alot of pictures. Print digital also recommend that when deciding upon a digital camera keep in mind what sort of batteries it takes. Does it take rechargeable batteries, are the batteries built and do you have to plug it into the mains, or does the camera only take standard batteries, if so then it can become exspensive if you are a keen photographer and use the camera alot.
There are three types of rechargeable batteries: NiCD, NiMH and Lithium-Ion. Nickel Metal Hydride are the most popular rechargeable batteries at present. They hold more charge than their counter parts NiCD and don't suffer from memory effect. The one small down fall of these batteries is that they will loose a small amount of charge even if they are not being used, so be sure to check the batteries before using them.
When you purchase a new digital camera make sure to ask what type of battery ...
