Sony water resistant shower radio
2010-03-19Just received the radio and I love it. I bought the radio for my master bathroom. I was very pleasantly surprised that one of the stations that I listen to came in very clear which usually comes in with a lot of static. It was very easy to set the clock and the preset stations. It was a no brainer.

Great radio with only two poor features
2010-03-15// I bought one or two other shower radios about 2 years ago and chucked them both out toot sweet for various failures, when a web search brought up this one (the S79V -- looks the same, though). So I bought it, not expecting much. And was blown away. Reception is great ... adjacent channel rejection is excellent ... sound is -- well, what do you expect in the shower?? Plenty good enough. Controls are simple, and brilliantly placed where you can work them easily even if the radio's overhead.
// I have no argument with C cell batteries, because of how long they last. One of the chuckouts burned through _6_ AAs every week ... the Sony needs changing maybe once every three months or so. Good deal.
// My first complaint was immediate: that wimpy little string they give you to hang it up with. Feh. Luckily, one of the chuckouts *did* have a decent bent-wire over-the-door hanger that actually fits the Sony perfectly, so the wimpy string problem went away in about a minute.
// My second complaint is more recent. Over time, the one-piece hard plastic button cover has cracked over some of the buttons, and even broken away ... particularly over the AM/FM band switch and the Off button. I don't know if it's because water gets in now or what, but those buttons need a lot of pressure lately and don't work so well anymore. With all the flexible plastics available today, I believe Sony could have done a better job here.
// So what am I going to do in the shower, now that this old radio is headed for new duties in my workshop? I'M GOING TO BUY ANOTHER ONE, OF COURSE!! It's *that* good.
// Prices vary. I see one at Amazon for $41, and I'm going to grab it before it's gone!

excellent purchase
2010-02-07This was a great purchase! And Amazon was wonderful to work with. The clock is better if put on a shelf rather than hanging tho. I have been searching for a good shower radio for years, and always ended up throwing away those $15 ones. For the money - this is the best one ever!

Sonmy AM/FM shower radio w/clock
2010-02-07Was a gift for son - he is having no problems and uses daily in tub/shower.

Best balthroom radio ever!
2010-02-06Researched a lot before I bought this radio. Very easy to use. It's great. The sound quality for the size is wonderful and the batteries are holding up great. I would definitely recommend this radio!

Digital camera batteries
Batteries are vital for all photography and makiing sure that you have a spare set is essential if you intend to take alot of pictures. Print digital also recommend that when deciding upon a digital camera keep in mind what sort of batteries it takes. Does it take rechargeable batteries, are the batteries built and do you have to plug it into the mains, or does the camera only take standard batteries, if so then it can become exspensive if you are a keen photographer and use the camera alot.
There are three types of rechargeable batteries: NiCD, NiMH and Lithium-Ion. Nickel Metal Hydride are the most popular rechargeable batteries at present. They hold more charge than their counter parts NiCD and don't suffer from memory effect. The one small down fall of these batteries is that they will loose a small amount of charge even if they are not being used, so be sure to check the batteries before using them.
When you purchase a new digital camera make sure to ask what type of battery ...

Generally when design, performance and technological improvements are made on electronic products there is a reduction in size as well to make them more compact.
For example the early day radios were built in large cabinets and required radio vacuum tubes. Eventually, transistor radios were constructed and were more portable. Today, a radio can be as small as a wristwatch.
Camcorders have also evolved in tec ...
