Very satisfied with this program
2008-12-03Trend Micro's Internet Security program is easy to install and has thus far performed very well on my PC. The installation was flawless and the directions easy to follow. I am satisfied with the security choices and options afforded the user. You can use it to protect children online from certain categories of traffic, which may appeal to parents. This program has satisfied all my security needs.

Demo it before you buy!
2008-11-30After 3 installation attempts, following directions carefully regarding uninstalling previous programs, etc., I get the blue screen of death each time. Can't get computer to run long enough to uninstall it so I have had to restore the system settings from safe mode after each attempt. I am disappointed since I have been a Trend Micro user for several years and liked their products but this is unacceptable. Installation proceeded normally, and I even was able to register and activate software before it goes blue. I finally gave up and installed Norton Internet Security as a demo and it worked perfectly. Given the software return policy, I will never buy before I test a security package again. This package may work great for some, but unless you want to spend a lot of time working on problems yourself or with tech support (only available M-F), I would highly recommend doing a demo first BEFORE you buy. I am prepared for a few installation difficulties but this is absurd. I guess I will be a Norton user for the next year at least.

It's ok -- worth using if you don't have anything
2008-11-30I've used TrendMicro in the past and of the three big ones (Norton, McAfee and TrendMicro), it's the last I would probably use. I usually use McAfee and while it's more complex, it tends to have better coverage. Still, if you don't have internet security, it's a decent product and one that will keep most cautious people safe.
It's easy to set up and maintain. Most of it is pretty intuitive. It blocks most sites ok. Still doggy on old systems, but if you have a newer system this isn't really a problem.
The price puts it in the realm of affordability, which is something its competitors are not. If you need a security suite and can't afford the other two, choose this.

ok but still not the fastest
2008-11-28without boring technical details;
speed 3/5
accuracy 4/5 (did not find a rootkit i installed which nod32 did
features 5/5
ease of use, first time 4/5
install ease 5/5
support 4/5 (based on ease of finding)
cost 5/5 because of length.
wasnt fooled by a fake renamed trojan - didnt give false positive.
I am biased towards comparing everything to NOD32, but thats my preference. Worked well with VISTA and WinXP Pro OEM SP3. I'd spent five hours toying with it, going to known "bad" websites. I got one false positive, and an alert on a keygen which may or may not have been another false positive. I'd rather have false positives than an "ignore".
Overall, I'd recommend this to the average user who does not surf unfamiliar "adult" or other "hacker/keygen/serialz" sites.
The 3-PC license is a great selling point, as most people use one AV license on multiple PCs anyways but they like to feel better about it.
4 stars just because I dont think ANY antivirii software deserves 5 stars. You are NEVER 100% safe. I'm still very happy with this.

Fantastic Resource for Internet Security And Protection!!
2008-11-20I've been a Trend Micro user for many many years now and I am a very happy customer indeed. If you need an easy to use solution for virus protection, firewall, and just the ability to use your computer without worrying about any nasties that you will get on the web or email you HAVE to try out this product! It's a great bargain at the price point its at, the customer support is fantastic and it's an easy to use product all around. I love it and continue to upgrade every year.
***** HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
