Great camera2010-02-11
Recently put this camera through its paces on a 715 mile snowmobile trip through Michigan's upper penninsula. Works great, takes great video and is easy to use. If I had one thing to gripe about, its the auto shut off feature for the unit that, if not used for a certain amount of time, it shuts completely down to conserve battery life. Good feature, but got annoying having to stop, remove unit from my helmet and turn it back on. Outside of that, it works great and is easy to set up and download from. Would definetly get another if I can find it for as good a price.
VholdR for Dirt Bikes2009-10-29
Overall this is a great product. I purchased this about six months ago and have no issues. The following are some pros and cons:

Pros:
The best feature of this product is the ease of starting and stopping the video. I can hear the beeps announcing recording while driving a 250cc motorcycle with a helmet on (obviously). The other great features are red/orange/green light indicators on both battery life and memory. This also has multiple mounting devices for many different surfaces which is also a great plus. I have captured some awesome crashes and experiences I love to watch again and again. I also like the fact the charge connection is Mini USB so I was able to use my cell phone charger. It is very easy to turn on and off both the power and recording while riding.

Cons:
I can usually record a maximum of two hours of riding. Both the battery and 2gig memory card allow this much. I have compensated this by periodically turning off and on the camera and only filming trails and turning it off on roads. There is a little bit of wind noise while driving but throw music on the vid and it works great. The editing software provided is for newbs. I guess this could be a pro as well but I like to edit my vids with software that has more features.

I would recommend buying multiple cards or I bring a laptop to charge and download the movies so the camera is ready for the next ride. I also recommend getting other charging devices for instance car chargers and wall charges. I am going to be using this for the skiing/snowmobile season so I will update this review on how well it works for these sports.

great product, im really picky on picture/video quality and this is a very good camera for the price, i would buy the hd but i dont have the money to spend on it and im not a pro going all out so the vholdr will do just fine.... trust me its very clear considering its not hd and the software is very simple and lets you edit, cut video, and add credits to the begining of your clips..i put it on my helmet when i ride mx and on my truck in the desert and not to mention get some good video with it straped on my r/c truck ! it goes anywere
Camcorder delivers great video, however can't handle impact recording!2009-08-29
This wearable camcorder delivered great video. It's easy to use and very simple. There's only one switch (stop/record) and one button (on/off/laser). The camcorder features two lasers which point at whatever it's recording - other than that, this is just a lens with a microchip and a flash memory card. I intended to record some sweet stunts while wearing this camcorder, however as soon as it makes impact, it stopped recording! The camcorder did not break, and is very hard to scratch (pavement does the trick!), however I lost all my sweet footage as soon as I hit the deck. The camcorder still works - it turns back on and works good as new after an impact. I even tried just dropping the camera from approx 3 ft and it still shuts off. So unfortunately, I can't post a video of this camera getting banged up, because as soon as the camcorder shuts off, I lose the video which was in the process of recording. All previously saved video clips are still there, though.

As a second demonstration, I tried dipping the camcorder in a bucket of water while recording. Again, the camcorder shut off when submerged. I could, again, turn the camcorder back on after pulling out of the water, but it refused to work under water.

This camcorder can survive impact and survive the elements, however cannot record in high-impact / wet environments. Perhaps I have a defect? Considering I got this as a Vine product, I have no interest in calling up the company to inquire about these issues. However, I would definitely be upset if I paid $200+ for this camcorder.
Has some glitches but good overall2009-08-21
It has a lot of pluses, and I think they improved on the design with the new HD that just came out as far as memory space. I would like it a lot better if you could use a regular SD card like a 16 gig instead of the max of 2 gigs. Once in a while it will stop recording and then start again which gives me a bunch of files that last about a second each. For the most part though it does it's job and I'm happy for the most part.

A Quick Look At the Professional Digital Camcorder
Introduction Professional digital camcorders are better than your analog camcorder, or even your digital video camera. The advancements that have been made in the camcorder industry are amazing. Just like everything else they keep getting more and more advanced, and shrinking in size. Even though we have seen much advancement, the price keeps getting more and more affordable. Professionals are not the only ones who can now enjoy the wonderful benefits of a professional -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A professional digital camcorder allows creativity and quality to meet, and the cost is far lower than it was only a few years ago. Even in the late 1990's most professionals were using Betamax professional quality analog recorders, though the professional digital camcorder was starting to come into its own back then. In 1997 at a press conference in Roswell, New Mexico during the 50th anniversary of the historic alleged UFO crash ...
Professional video camera
A Professional video camera (often called a Television camera even though the use has spread) is a high-end device for recording electronic moving images (as opposed to a movie camera, that records the images on film). Originally developed for use in television studios, they are now commonly used for corporate and educational videos, music videos, direct-to-video movies, etc. There are two types of professional video cameras: High end portable, recording cameras (essentially, high-end camcorders) used for ENG and EFP image acquisition, and studio cameras which lack the recording capability of a camcorder, and are often fixed on studio pedestals. Portable professional cameras are generally much larger than consumer cameras and are designed to be carried on the shoulder. Technology It is common for professional cameras to split the incoming light into the three primary colors that humans are able to see, feeding each color into a separate pickup tube (in older cameras) or charge ...
