Using the ooma system is even easier! ooma devices have been designed to provide an intuitive out-of-box experience. Ooma can move your number from your current phone provider for a one-time fee of $39.99. To use the ooma Hub device, you need TWO things: 1. Exactly what VOIP should be
2008-12-04I was a Sunrocket customer :( for over two years and I was a relatively early adopter of Ooma after sunrocket blew up on the launch pad.
I've had Ooma for over a year and in that time I have lived in two very different areas of the country. As others have said, set up was a breeze and the functionality and quality is always amazing.
The core system features are standard stuff you would get with any VOIP, where Ooma is really different (besides the obvious and important monetary cost savings you get)is in some of the premium features and also the device interface itself. It bridges the gap between the ultra techy VOIP folks who check the website like an email account (tracking calls and voicemails) and the new VOIP adopters or old schoolers who like to listen to their messages from their answering machine. The old school folks may like the idea of do not disturb for example, but they would never use it because they wouldn't want to log into their account online to change the option. Ooma has a button right there on the device, problem solved.
VOIP is perfect for me because I like the convenience of a home phone but I never spend that much time on my home phone and I always have at least a DSL speed internet connection. I have been waiting for Ooma for a long time, I mean I already pay for the internet connection why should I pay monthly for making calls that utilize that connection?
I shouldn't. With Ooma I don't have to!
That being said, the premier features are still a good deal for heavy phone users compared to the cost of other VOIP providers (even after the cost of the device), especially when you consider what you get.

Outstanding Product
2008-12-04I seldom write reviews as I expect a certain level of value for anything I buy. However, The ooma is an exceptional value. The unit is well built, installation is easy and it performs as advertised. Voice quality is exceptional. I've used it locally and for long distance and it's fine. It will pay for itself in a few months and then it's all free. I have Cox high speed internet service and cannot comment on performance with DSL.

ooma is great
2008-12-02I have had ooma for two weeks and love it. My setup was simple since I just have one phone in my condo. I connected the phone to the ooma hub and the ooma hub to my cable modem. I chose to ditch my old number and get a new number. The whole process took 15 minutes. Calls are very clear. I canceled my digital phone service from Time Warner which I was paying $35/mo for. ooma will pay for itself in six months. I have already told friends and family about ooma and would recommend it to anyone.

Easy setup, works well
2008-12-01I bought Ooma from Amazon recently. Installation was a snap. My setup is
on a Comcast cable internet. Ooma base plugs in between the cable modem and the router (wireless in my case) and is tucked away out of sight. Ooma base needs to be connected to a wall phone jack so that it can power all the phone outlets in the house. In my case, besides the jack the Ooma base is connected to, I need only one more active wall outlet which is where the scout is connected to. Then my multi-handset VTech phone is connected to the scout and voila, I have Ooma service from the entire house from all the handsets.
I have disabled the built-in answering machine on my VTech phone system base unit so that Ooma voicemail kicks in. After a simple configuration in the Ooma website (what they call as lounge), a voicemail left by a caller comes in as an email attachment. Very convenient. Now I can listen to my voicemails from anywhere in the world.
I am transferring my phone number to Ooma so that I can ditch my Ma Bell's landline altogether. All-in-all, I am very happy in the two weeks I have been using Ooma.

Amazing!
2008-11-30I did a lot of research & reading reviews before buying, trying to find the "catch" but didnt find any. I price shopped around everywhere & ended up paying $229/shipped. Do some price shopping, with the holidays coming I now have seen special offers for $199.
The phone is exactly as described. Its clear as a bell, more clear than any landline. I'll never pay a phone bill again!

Digital camera batteries
Batteries are vital for all photography and makiing sure that you have a spare set is essential if you intend to take alot of pictures. Print digital also recommend that when deciding upon a digital camera keep in mind what sort of batteries it takes. Does it take rechargeable batteries, are the batteries built and do you have to plug it into the mains, or does the camera only take standard batteries, if so then it can become exspensive if you are a keen photographer and use the camera alot.
There are three types of rechargeable batteries: NiCD, NiMH and Lithium-Ion. Nickel Metal Hydride are the most popular rechargeable batteries at present. They hold more charge than their counter parts NiCD and don't suffer from memory effect. The one small down fall of these batteries is that they will loose a small amount of charge even if they are not being used, so be sure to check the batteries before using them.
When you purchase a new digital camera make sure to ask what type of battery ...
