Simplay amazing.
2008-11-22Like many here, I spent over three months researching. Of course, my main line of work isn't photography but I do use it very often as I am a webmaster. I like taking a camera around and I did own a film SLR some years back. After losing my camera when I lost my house to fire, I relegated myself to simple point and shoots with automatic zoom.
I've handled a Nikon D70 a few times and I wasn't too impressed with the overal quality although many photo buffs around me swear by Nikon. To say the least, even my co-workers are stunned with the sharpness and amazing detail even with the automatic mode. One vows to throw away his cannon rebel to purchase one like mine.
I'm yet, even in automatic mode, to come across the problem with focussing in low light. I've taken some great night pictures when I couldn't even see the subject at times through the view finder. I just use the nightscene mode and fire away.
It will take me some time to fully operate the manual mode as I'm new to some of the concepts. But hey, I'm a quick learner. The video tutorial I got with the package did help a lot. All in all, a 5 star product even with the kit lenses.
