Product Description:
There's always been intrigue and adventure at the heart of Calexico. Joey Burns and John Convertino have constantly imbued their music with an unparalleled sense of drama, calling upon the myths and iconography of the American West and its Spanish speaking neighbor Mexico. "Carried To Dust" represents the pinnacle of their achievement, a thrilling and moving journey through a landscape that draws upon the modern world as much as it does the decayed reminders of times past, stumbling upon unexpected delights whilst always moving forward with a pioneering sense of purpose.

Another excellent album
2008-11-24I happened to have seen them, live, in Omaha, NE, and I was unaware of this album. I checked a few clips, and remember some of the songs They are mesmerizing.
Their style is what it is. Eclectic for sure, but their own. Not outstanding, but excellent.

Get it....
2008-11-15Another great Calexico CD.....get it! I simply can't get enough of them, and if you like their recorded music, you should see them in person.....awesome!!!!

Nice Tracks!
2008-11-13Another great record from Calexico. The compositions are wonderful and the recording quality is pure warm southwest tastyness.

Great songs for listening or singing to.
2008-11-05Listening to these somgs comes as easy as a soft afternoon in the shade of a big maple tree. Never tire of them and hear something new each time. Recommended.

Moodier and not as catchy
2008-11-02Good release but I'm more fond of "The Black Light" and "Feast of Wire". Maybe I'll change my mind after a couple more listens but we'll see.
