Nero Liquid TV

NEVER WORKED RIGHT EVEN WITH TWEAKING FOR TWO HOURS IN WINDOWS MEDIA CENTER WITH WINDOWS 7. PICTURE FREEZES AND JUMPS, SOUND CRACKS AND POPS AND HAD TO START IT THREE OR FOUR TIMES JUST TO GET IT TO PLAY. SETUP IS A NIGHTMARE EVEN WITH THE LATEST DRIVERS FROM THE NERO SITE. IT TOOK OVER THREE HOURS TO SET-UP ( GET READY TO WATCH A SPINNING BALL) AND IT NEVER WORKED RIGHT. SUPPORT IS A JOKE. THE 950Q MIGHT WORK BETTER WITH WIN-TV BUT YOU HAVE TO ORDER THAT FROM HAUPPAUGE FOR $8.95.

I am not happy with Nero Liquid TV. Installation is a nightmare, customer service is absolutely horrible. They should fire their whole telephone support team and replace them with a recording that tells you to email your questions. Email eventually gets answered unlike telephone support that expires in 10 days. During that 10 days you will be lucky if you ever speak to a human and I seriously doubt that you will get help if you do. After spending hours (days actually) fiddling with Nero to get it to work, I finally got there. Nero Liquid TV was able to view and record TV. During recording/playback NLTV loses the digital signal signal for brief periods. I installed Windows Media Center on my Windows 7 computer and it does everything that NLTV does only better and without hassle. And you get a hassle free program guide that does not require an annual subscription. Don't buy NLTV. Just buy a TV receiver card and install Windows Media Center

What an ill conceived abomination this LiquidTV is! I am long time Tivo customer/PC builder. After repeated attempts to install and configure LiquidTV, I decided to scrap EVERYTHING Nero and Tivo related. Just use the decent Hauppauge 950Q USB tuner alone. I am running XP Pro. Not Media Center. I found and downloaded a free version of Hauppauge WinTV 6 and it installed in a snap. I did a channel scan. Found all 70+ Comcast analog and about an equal number of unencrypted QAM channels that they are passing through to me.. Included here are actually LOTS of mainly local channels that I am NOT getting through Comcrap on my Tivo HD DVR using legally subscribed cable cards!! Go figure!
I'd LOVE to be using the newer WinTV 7 software that I downloaded from Hauppauge Support. But, it runs ONLY if you have an ORIGINAL WinTV 6 or later CD available for your computer's optical drive as the upgrade takes place.
Until I can figure out how to get the newer WinTV 7 to run, I am content with what I have running now. It HAS to be better than LiquidTV!

This is one of the worst pieces of junk I jave ever bought. It does not work and support is non-existent.

On the Tivo website, this product is described as end of life. I went to the Nero website, and the product was not found. I am waiting for an email back from Nero support to resolve a Tivo Service Number issue, however the Nero forum reports very long response times and poor support.

The tuner seems ok, but the software has problems.
