Bang for the buck2010-02-28
Sleek look, light, easy to use, decent speed, quite, no problems so far. The only thing that bothered me a little is the USB cable which gets pulled easily from the HDD side. Everything else is satisfactory, I am happy with it and I recommend this product.
Broke in a year2010-02-08
The drive failed shortly after a year, taking some important data with it. Won't buy from toshiba again.
1 year and still no problem2010-02-08
I've had my Toshiba 250gb external Hard Drive for almost 1 1/2 years now and haven't had a single problem with it. I runs great the case is sleek and made well enough that as long as your not an idiot it should last. As for the USB cord you receive with your hard drive its an almost universal plug so you should be able to find a longer cord without any problem. The speed of my file transfers was just fine its not extremely fast its not extremely slow. Its really just an average hard drive nothing terrible nothing great about it. For those giving this a 1 star rating I really question what they're doing with these hard drives because it really doesn't seem that easy to break unless your doing something really stupid like stacking books on it.

Now would I recommend it, I would defiantly recommend it though some people might have received a defective hard drive you must understand this is a risk no matter where or what you buy with any product.
Unreliable2010-01-18
I've had this product for about 18 months. After 1 year of normal usage without incident (used only for backups) it would frequently disconnect from the computer. Many times have checked for errors, and according to Windows 7 there are none. Now for some reason the files in individual folders won't show even though according to Windows there is 250GB of used space, and a need to reformat. Fortunately I won't lose any data since it was a back up, I have however lost many hours fiddling with this faulty Toshiba drive. No back up for lost time. Thumbs down.
Good Price, Good Product2009-12-22
Since I purchased this item about 6 months ago, it has worked extremely well. I use it as a back up for my movies, music, and for my PS3. The ext hdd has great functionality, even after formatting it to work with my PS3.
