Small Business Printer
2010-03-03We bought this a few months ago and we print around 250 pages per month - mostly color letters and invoices, etc. The printer does not produce picture quality colors BUT for the price, the features and our needs, this printer gets 5 stars. If we needed to print high-end presentations and the like we would have purchased a printer more suited for that purpose. I can't speak about cost of ownership as I haven't had to purchase supplies for it (we've only printed 3000+ pages).

Great for charts and reports... horrible for photos or registration
2010-02-18The review title sums it up succinctly. On the plus side this is a very easy machine to set up and put in use. It a very fast machine for it's class and it features a great power save option that will wake the machine when a print file is sent to it.
On the negative side, the color fidelity makes this machine a poor choice anyone needing accuracy for photos or graphic design. The colors tend to appear washed out even when set to "vibrant" in the print dialog. The other thing I've discovered is that the registration often varies from sheet to sheet. So exact placement on label templates or multiple pages of something to be cut down in bulk could be non starters on this machine.
Based on my experience with it, this printer is ideally suited to small office environment where color is used often, but not with critical vibrancy or accuracy requirements. It would be fine for doing business graphs, charts, and reports. It is not suitable for anyone that needs vibrant, accurate colors nor for someone that requires exacting registration between pages of a print job.

Awful quality.. a waste of money! get something else.
2010-02-05We had to get a new printer to replace our old HP2020. We decided to get this one based on the price and features.
The quality of printing (color) is as bad as you can imagine. It doesn't show or let you know when is time to get ink. Overall a bad bad experience.

Quality Printer for a good price!
2010-02-01Bought this printer on special price. Quality prints, fast speed, and is very reliable. The printer is large in size and footprint, but well worth the money. Very happy with this network/color laserjet printer.

Stick with HP
2009-12-29Based on reviews and past experience with another Brother model, we purchased 8 of these for our office. What a mistake. The printer requests that the toner cartridges be replaced with hardly any printing having taken place. 3 of ours have displayed that all 3 color toners went out at exactly the same time. After some research, I found this is a Brother issue. I ended up having to put black tape over the toner window of the cartridges so that the printer "thinks" the toner is still full. The printer continues to print many pages, and I've read you can get up to 2,000 pages beyond the replace message. That is ridiculous. I also have one that displays a "Paper Jam Tray 1" message after printing every other page. As far as the other issues- they are slow, warm-up slowly, print slowly, the color saturation is lacking, and best of all - THEY WEIGH A TON. That's especially fun when you have to move them around for troubleshooting. My recommendation is simple- Stick with HP.

Digital camera batteries
Batteries are vital for all photography and makiing sure that you have a spare set is essential if you intend to take alot of pictures. Print digital also recommend that when deciding upon a digital camera keep in mind what sort of batteries it takes. Does it take rechargeable batteries, are the batteries built and do you have to plug it into the mains, or does the camera only take standard batteries, if so then it can become exspensive if you are a keen photographer and use the camera alot.
There are three types of rechargeable batteries: NiCD, NiMH and Lithium-Ion. Nickel Metal Hydride are the most popular rechargeable batteries at present. They hold more charge than their counter parts NiCD and don't suffer from memory effect. The one small down fall of these batteries is that they will loose a small amount of charge even if they are not being used, so be sure to check the batteries before using them.
When you purchase a new digital camera make sure to ask what type of battery ...
