Good Computer
2010-02-27Computer is good for someone that is not into games or any of the fancy stuff. Very handy and light weight

Surprisingly good.
2010-02-16I kept a little back when it came to the netbooks, but this one changed my view.
Best of all - WINDOWS XP.
It had almost all I needed and handled most of the programs I used, except those that demanded a higher resolution than this one offered.
If you as parent want to buy a portable computer for your kids this one is perfect (though take the one with 10" screen as 8.9 IS too small).
The "advantage" of the weak graphic card is that most of the games we as parents would like our kids to stay away from won't run on this one.

Keeps having problems
2010-02-12I bought this computer almost a year ago, now It's been giving me the hardest times ever. I have already sent it back to Acer offices, and they still haven't fixed it. I need my computer for my classes, and they are wasting my time. I'm really angry and disapointed. I want a new computer that does not break every time.

GRrr8!!
2010-01-31Took sometime to adjust to the screen size but its fast, has great storage space and the additional storage feature is super!... The speakers could do some more work but its a great piece for surfing, research and quick note taking in classroom!

Great netbook especially with Win7 (almost 5*)
2009-12-16Bought the aspire one 8.9" to use with my camera - as a replacement for my portable harddrive/image viewer but ended up using it daily. Bought it six months ago here at amazon and has been working great.
Note: I have been using this Windows 7 from the first week (since RC and beta versions). I personally think it is great with Windows 7 was good with the XP it came with but I used it only for a few days with Windows-XP. I use it even with Adobe Lightroom and for its size and capacity I would say great performance.
Cons:
- Main concern - Memory: comes with 1gb; it can support upto 1.5gb but not user replaceable - see [...]
- No bluetooth but I have the tiny usb bluetooth adapter on permanently
- keyboard and touchpad will need a little getting used to
- flimsy wireless on/off button - so far so good
Overall very good value. If not for the non-user-serviceable memory would have given 5 stars

Printer Buying Guide
What kind of printer is best for me?
Choosing the right printer can be a daunting task. There are several different types of printing technology to choose from, each suited for different needs. Printers come in all shapes and sizes, from tiny travel companions to workgroup workhorses; some are geared toward photographers, others are for multitaskers. And the many specifications for resolution and speed can be misleading. As a rule of thumb, inkjet printers are a must for long-lasting photos, while laser printers are best to produce speedy text documents.
