Great Drive2010-03-03
I was a bit worried at first thinking I was going to have to do other things to this to get this drive to work. It turns out all I did was swap mother boards from old drive to new drive and it works like new. If the internal mechanics of your drive have gone bad then this is the fix.
minus one star for communication2009-12-23
ok the item worked great pretty much plug-n-play for me item was new as stated communication could have been better emails were not responded after 2nd email other then that i would most likely buy from thumbmonkey again
Hard to use...2009-12-16
I got it on time, but I am unable to use it due to it having a different code than my xbox 360 uses. Thus I have to flash it now.
Noisy / watch the vender.2009-12-09
well, the drive may be fine but, when I received the drive I was skeptical due to the fact that the drive was not in a box. it was wrapped in plastic and in a shipping box. I took the drive out and began the process of replacing mine. I opened the new drive to be able to swap boards for ease and discovered that there was no way the drive was a new drive. I had ordered a new drive and found lint and score marks on the inside of the drive as well as could see that the board had been removed once already. Not Happy due to the fact that I ordered a new drive not a used one. I figured the drive must at least work because mine did not and so I proceeded with the replacement. the drive works but makes so much racket that I would have to turn the volume up so high on my TV to be able to understand what was being said the neighbors in the county could hear it. Needless to say, I trashed the drive and ordered another drive from another vender. I am satisfied with the drive. It does make more noise than the stock one I had in the Xbox but at least it runs. I plan to use this one for a while and when the noise drives me the rest of the way up the wall I will order a stock one. Be wary of orders from thumbmonkey!
