Make sure you update driver and firmware before using.2010-03-17
This is a great value for the money and the print quality is fantastic. I was also impressed by the speed. It used to cost about $500 for a decent color laserjet, so to get one for $150 or less is great. It is similar in size and quality to ones that we use at my work (I work in a law office). I did have some big problems initially, so I have to subtract a star for that. The setup was fairly easy- you basically remove all the packaging and connect the usb and power cord. The driver install was OK, but I was disappointed that I did not get any "driver install successful message" or any prompt for a test page. I went to print a photo and got a flashing orange "error" light. I had to run a 2nd program which they include that told me that status of the printer was "memory full". I kept getting a "memory full" error no matter how small the file (even a 500 kb photo). I turned the printer off and on, checked all the cables, rebooted the PC. Nothing worked. So I ended up having to go to the Konica Minolta website to download a new driver. That didn't fix the problem. So then I had to download two kinds of new firmware and that finally resolved the issue. It killed about 2 hours of my time troubleshooting this. I have Windows Vista 64-bit, so it's possible there were compatibility issues and perhaps other people will not have this problem. But I would encourage everyone to go to the Konica Minolta website and download the latest driver and firmware BEFORE using this product.
Fine tll you replace the toner2010-02-16
Great example of Jekyll & Hyde in a printer. Unit works fine til you replace the toner, then becomes awful.

First off the lack of WINDOWS 7 drivers is a major issue at present. When using generic drivers there are no tools for cleaning, color correction, etc. Also the including software is not compatible with Windows 7 so you must look elsewhere to find editing / printing software.

My unit arrived with a serious power issue that causes a house wide brown out or a tripped circuit breaker every time the unit powers up, or wakes from sleep mode. It then runs fine once it powers up. But because of this I am forced to turn off my computer before I turn on the printer every time I want to print since the brown out will cause my computer to crash.

So if you still have the patience to get this far the printer now works and prints very well for about 250 pages on the introductory cartridges including with the printer. However after toner is replaced the once beautiful colors become ugly and dull, as well as blurry. Making a once beautiful print job look like it was colored with crayons on wet paper.

As for my printer once I can afford it I plan to replace it. Please take my advice and look on for a better printer.
Review for Konica Minolta Magicolor 1600W2010-01-30
Item was as advertised and very easy to setup. Price was very good. I was disappointed to discover the printer came with "starter" toner cartridges instead of full size ones.
Lasers are fun2010-01-05
There is quite alot to say about this printer.
Starting with the 19 steps to installation. Actually there are 21, it doesn't mention closing the open panels it had you open.

Don't be daunted by that, this thing is a sweetheart.

From the box, it will take about thirty minutes to print (about). It has to warm up the first time (think charging the battery for the first time). But after that, it's fast.

I will say this. This is a laser printer, not inkjet. This means laser paper (for one thing). It will print on regular paper, BUT that may ruin the drum. The quality is 1200X600, which is quite nice. Not photo, but it isn't made for that. Also, this isn't for lower versions of OS. XP & above.
Toner costs more than ink, but doesn't dry out either. You can see by the other reviews here that the replacements are quite costly. But we've been paying HP & Epson for years his way.
Also, toner has more per cartridge, so you'll pay a bit more. More than the unit itself isn't great, except that you now can easily afford a color laser (won't run when wet) printer.

Konica is an old reliable copier/photostat (etc) company. They have been around quite some time. I have used their copiers many times & have liked the results. Minolta has been around too (think camera), & in the copier biz as well. I had an old Z something years ago that was great.
So with that, I'm happy they offer something for in home, especially if you print less than 35,000 copies per month. No, your inkjet doesn't have that.

So it's easy to use, prints real fast, needs a USB cable (don't they all?) & looks good. Also, this is a large printer. Think, bread machine. It does need clearance for air.
It powers down pretty fast (but I usually just turn it off anyhow), & powers up just as well.
It is noisy, so keep that in mind. It sounds like any other laser printer. Oh, just a tip. Don't go poking around inside, these things are hot!! It has a warning on it & operates at around 380 degrees F.

I saw that someone had a tough time closing the paper paths, I don't know why? They just fold closed.

There are a few firmware updates on their site. Review them & see if you need or want them. I believe the "ejecting the cartridge when empty" is a good one.
Awesome2009-12-18
OK, my 1992 LaserJet4 AND my Canon ink jet both crapped out yesterday. So I find this for $119 at B&H. Now, I am a gambler, but the last time I used a color laser printer, it was the size and weight of a piano, made lousy prints, and the IBM guy had to come every week to fix it.

I was in the middle of a job printing tickets in b&w and passes with photos in color. And I'm also making signs with a vinyl cutter. So, I print a sheet of tickets in b&w. beautiful. Now I try printing the passes with the color photo. My LaserJet was horrible with photos. You had to halftone them. THE COLOR PHOTO ON WHITE CARD STOCK CAME OUT WAY BETTER THAN MY INKJET ON PHOTO PAPER! WOW. Blown away. OK, now I'm getting reckless. I cut a piece of sign vinyl 8x11 and put it in. I'm thinking the fuser could melt the vinyl and my brand new printer could turn to umhm in one second. Or would rub off. Nope, it printed beautifully and fused just fine to the vinyl. It's not often you buy something and it turns out way better than you expected. I'm having a good day.

One more thing: Did you check the price of the toners for this thing? That's right, $270 for all four toners. Or $370 for the high capacity toners. They are selling this copier for a loss, hoping to make it back on the toner. Well, Konica Minolta guys, don't read this, but If I keep liking this printer as much as I do now, what's to stop me from buying a couple more at $119 just for the toners? (and the drum $89) (and the fuser unit $110) (and having a spare printer instead of buying the extended warranty $119)

Professional video camera
A Professional video camera (often called a Television camera even though the use has spread) is a high-end device for recording electronic moving images (as opposed to a movie camera, that records the images on film). Originally developed for use in television studios, they are now commonly used for corporate and educational videos, music videos, direct-to-video movies, etc. There are two types of professional video cameras: High end portable, recording cameras (essentially, high-end camcorders) used for ENG and EFP image acquisition, and studio cameras which lack the recording capability of a camcorder, and are often fixed on studio pedestals. Portable professional cameras are generally much larger than consumer cameras and are designed to be carried on the shoulder. Technology It is common for professional cameras to split the incoming light into the three primary colors that humans are able to see, feeding each color into a separate pickup tube (in older cameras) or charge ...
