LOVE LOVE LOVE this attachment!2008-12-03
This is an awesome attachment - i've used it to grind chicken for lettuce wraps, as well as making some of my own ground beef.
it's got 2 discs with different diameters...the large worked out wonderfully for my ground chicken, and the smaller is really nice to get a fine grind on red meats. if you want a really ground up meat i'd run it though the grinder twice. either way it's a great kitchen item!
Awesome!2008-11-27
I bought and used for sausage and kilbasa. The grinder works great, the sausage attachment needs a better pusher.
Food grinder attachment2008-11-25
The food grinder attachment works great,it works well for making your own hamburger..better and cheaper than store hamburger. I also recently purchased the food puree attachment as well. I used the puree attachment to puree my pumpkins and sweet potatoes, works fantastic!!!!!

If you love to cook fresh, it's a great buy!!!
NEW AND IMPROVED2008-11-24
AT FIRST WAS UNHAPPY WITH PLASTIC PUSHER/TOOL THAT REPLACED WOODEN TOOL ON OLDER MODELS. THEN REALIZED NEW PUSHER HAS BUILT IN STOP SO WILL NOT GET WARN BY FEED ASSEMBLY LIKE OLD MODEL. GOOD UNIT, VERY PLEASED.
Leaves Residue In Food2008-11-24
This device grinds food just fine.... BUT it leaves a small amount of gray-black residue in the food. This comes from where the grinder plate wears against the metal shaft. As the food is pressed past, it picks up the residue.

If you are not watching, it is easy to overlook as it soon gets mixed in with the rest of the freshly ground food, but it is clearly there.

The customer service people told me that this residue is "harmless" but I have had a hard time getting comfortable feeding my family a metal residue in their food. I end up picking it out, but that is labor intensive and takes all of the fun out of using this machine.

I have tried adding a small amount of food-safe lubricant, but that makes the problem worse. I have also tried cleaning the parts and adjusting the tightness and the grind speed.
