Fool Proof Foto Processing2008-12-21
This is the best product for the few non-computer literate digital photographers. This was the second PictureMate we have purchased. Epson PictureMate Deluxe Viewer Edition Photo Printer My husband, who is computer illiterate, loves his printer and can review, crop and print his pictures. He is very, very happy with it. It's portable and convenient. Would highly recommend it to anyone.
portable and works well2008-11-16
This printer is very portable and it produces nice prints. I forget what CNET gave it, but it was favorable, so I bought it.
Works Well But Know This . . .2008-08-20
I am very excited about using this printer. It just arrived today and I printed one picture. The picture appears just as it should - bright, colorful, and looks like a quality print. This is much better than going to a store to have it printed.

NOTE: I used two SanDisk SD memory cards and only one of them worked. After calling Epson technical support for this printer, I was informed by a helpful, knowledgeable representative that this printer cannot recognize SD cards over the capacity of 2.4 GB. So this card: SanDisk SDSDPH-008G-A11 8GB/15MB Ultra II SD Plus Card didn't work in this machine. The other card I used was 2.0 GB.

Other than that, this machine works quite well, and I highly recommend it.
Dependable Printer with Great Picture Quality2008-07-03
I've had this printer for over a year now and it's still going strong. I previously owned an Epson Stylus Photo 780 that I had a lot of problems with (clogged heads and old drivers), but after reading some of the Amazon reviews about the PictureMate, I decided to take a chance and buy it for my husband.

It worked perfectly right out of the box, and have never had any problems with clogged heads. Sometimes I let it sit for almost a month before using it, and I keep it in a somewhat dusty/hairy environment, and it has still worked every time. The picture quality is great. I don't use Epson's software to print, I print through the Photoshop dialogue box on my computer, so I can't really comment on that function. I get more than 100 photos out of each printer cartridge, so I actually end up having extra cartridges rather than paper.

The one thing I don't like is that you have to buy the paper/ink cartridge together. Oftentimes, I only need one or the other and it ends up being a waste. In the future, I would love to see this printer be able to print 5x7s as well as the 4x6s it can print now.
Prints Beautifly But Still Not Worth It2008-06-30
I recieved this as a this for a gift in 05 and completely stopped using it by mid 2006. While the prints were perfect, and it was nice to be able to jazz people by the ability to print pics from their visit--same day, there were just too many cons. I HATE that I am forced to buy the ink in an expensive package, combined with 100 sheets of Epson picture paper. The print pack ink is guaranteed to last for ALL of the 100 paper's but it never lasted beyond 30 prints for me! I have built up quite the stockpile of left over printer photo paper now, so much for "guaranteed to last". I thought Epson would be the answer to my printer nightmares (I'm a former HP printer user), but they have proven to be the worst of all with their strictly proprietary products.
