Nikon D60 Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm AF-S VR Zoom Lens + Nikon 55-200mm AF-S VR Zoom Lens + 8GB SD Card + EN-EL9 Battery + Case

great package
2010-03-21With the exception of taking movies it is a great camera package and good value

Very useful package - great camera
2009-12-14I bought this package in July 2009 and have been thoroughly impressed with the performance so far. I tool it on a trip to South America and took loads of photos. They all came out top notch.
The two lenses have vibration reductions, which makes photography at night (w/o flash) much easier. I also got a tripod and lens cleaner along with this.
The only problem i can see is that the bag is too huge- sometimes you only need to take the camera and not all its accessories. But that can easily be solved by having a special pouch only for the camera.
Overall - great camera, awesome photos - although how good the photos are really depends on the photographer (contrary to what people may think!).

Great camera
2009-08-21I bought the SLR D60 for a recent trip to Niagara Falls and I was not disappointed. After years of playing with a pocket size camera and thinking my pictures were "good", the D60 put everything into perspective. Crisp images. Detailed images. True to life images. This camera made me realize I had it all wrong. If you are looking to take photos that are of higher quality and get the "memories captured" that you see when you look at something, buy this camera. It will make you fall in love again with pictures. Just like my Polaroid Swinger camera did the first time.

Best Camera Ever
2009-07-14This is a great SLR bundle. Cameta did a great job shipping and customer service was also great. This is our first SLR camera and it was hard to spend this kind of money (and I paid about $100 less just last week) but now that we've used it for just the last couple of days there is no comparison to the Kodak point and shoot this camera replaced. I would recommend this camera to anyone in the market for one.

Amateur takes on camera
2009-06-30Hi! While this review may only be helpful to amateurs and not professional photographers, I do hope that it is helpful to those starting out with an SLR. I, for one, am a recent high school graduate who wanted to pick up photography as a hobby. I wanted an easy to use camera that is somewhat self-explanatory and I would say that the D60 did succeed in doing so - once you read the manual of course. The Pro's of the D60 camera itself is that the camera has a feature that lets you know whether the subject is too dark or whether the camera cannot function in a certain lighted atmosphere. Also, that same button can explain what the different modes of the function do and how the apeture/shutter speed can affect a photo. The only cons I would say is that the camera doesn't have an LCD shot prior to the photo, but it does indeed have the playback function. The only downfall for the camera's default functions are Large JPEG photos, which for a student's computer takes up a lot of room, so that's something to be weary about.
The outfit has served me well. The larger lens helps me take photographs of flowers in gardens. The extra battery and the memory space are ideal for a traveler, so if you worry about that - stop worrying! The case is kind of bulky, but if you want to take the entire outfit with you whereever, its a risk you should be willing to take.
All in all the photos come out great, and I've had a great time experimenting with the camera. I know that when if I were to take photography classes, this camera would still serve me well in the manual function.
