HP PhotoSmart C4480 All-in-One Printer (Q8388A)

I received this printer free with my mac laptop, and I have been fairly disappointed. It goes through ink pretty quickly (I'm on my third batch since August, and I don't print that much). Print quality is fine, and it's simple to use, but it jams probably every other time I print, or, if it doesn't jam, it just stops mid print-page so that I have to reprint the sheet. I've even had it rip my paper up. It's also frozen three times so far, to the extent that I had to unplug it to get it to turn off.

Features: The card reader is a nice bonus, as is the copier. Strangely enough, I can't use the scanner because it the program won't work with a mac (although I got the printer with my mac) and I cannot import data from it from an image program (there may be a way around this that I don't know, though).

I wouldn't recommend this printer, but it's usable.

This is my second printer in the house. Since I have another one, I thought I should just buy a cheaper one. It turns out, I have so much headache with this. It would not print most of the time. Even if I have so many papers, it will ALWAYS SAY OUT OF PAPER. I tried shutting it off, it freezes. I tried to copy last night, I was not successful, it always say out of paper. I have this for 3 wks now. I am contemplating of throwing this in the garbage.
The frustration is not worth the price. I highly recommend NOT TO BUY this.

Got this printer free with Mac laptop. Problems after problems. The printer jams a lot but more than that, it stalls and freezes. I can't even turn it off and restart. I have to unplug from the outlet and start over. Scanning pictures is a pain too. Very slow and sometimes doesn't work. Making copies is hit or miss. Sometimes it works, sometimes it takes FOREVER to copy one page. It goes on and on and makes a copy in a painfully slow pace. (5 minutes for one page)
The only positive about this printer is the ease of replacing cartridges. I am going to purchase another printer and chuck this one. it's been too annoying to deal with it!

I have had problems with this printer from day one! It will not work! If it prints, it won't scan. If it scan's it wont print. For random periods of time it will work like a dream but if u have any kind of problem with it, expect to be trying to find or fix the problem for a good half hour to an hour. And let me crush any spec hope u have for tech support, its awful. If u opt for just looking at the trouble shooting page instead of talking to someone the site will tell u to unplug it for approx. 2 to 3 min then turn it on again but more often than not it wont turn back on! Sometimes I will come back hours or days later and it will randomly turn on again. I am a freelance artist and run a business from home. I cannot tell you the incredible frustration I have felt using this machine while trying to finish a project. I have had bad printers in the past but have never dealt with this level of aggravation before. Because of this experience I will NEVER again buy another HP printer. If I could give this product 0 stars I would.

Since the day i got this printer free with my macbook it was nothing but headaches. First the printer wouldn't print more than 2 pages without leaving streak in the text. Then i had issues were i couldn't get anything to work. Then i fixed both of those using many troubleshoots and then my scanner decided to stop working. Now as of today it just prints out blank pages. Worst printer i have ever used in my life and I've only used it to print black and white reports for college. As of now i am throwing it away and giving up, NOT WORTH THE HEADACHE.
