Amazon Rocks! HP Support doesn't2009-08-07
Amazon ***** (5/5) HP 7560 ** (2/5)

Luckily I bought this printer from Amazon. The first one I received was DOA and Amazon replaced it ( Amazon ROCKS!!! ). It would not even print the head alignment sheet of paper since it came up with "paper jam" messages out of the box. I read the manual, looked at the HP support web page, looked at news forums for possible answers but none would fix the "paper jam" message. I emailed HP support and got a really lame "read the manual" reply. I worked for HP as an electrical engineer from 1978-2000 and have owned 6 different HP printers. I generally consider myself as technology competent. I sent 2 more emails to support but no help.

I finally asked for a replacement unit from Amazon. After this I told HP to close my support request because Amazon was replacing the unit. Then I got an email from HP support telling me that they would replace the unit.... too late...

The new unit worked out of the box. The first two pictures I printed looked incredible!! Great detail and color. The third was green. I used the head cleaning utility and re-aligned the print heads and the pictures look good again. I am crossing my fingers with this printer. It has great potential but is very temperamental.

I haven't tried the dreaded HP Windoze CD printer software. I am a linux user and I am hoping the HPLIP ( HP Linux Imaging and Printing Software ) works better. The fact that HP supported linux was a deciding factor in buying the printer.

Don't Do It!2009-07-10
This printer is the biggest piece of electronic garbage I've ever purchased. It gobbles up ink, it is very user UN-friendly, it's set up operation every time it is turned on takes an incredible amount of time, and I continually get pop-ups trying to sell me more HP stuff. I've had this printer for a few months, and I'm GIVING it away....complete with a complete set of new ink cartridges. It has NEVER printed a decent print since I've had it. I contacted HP and was completely ignored. Don 't even think about getting one of these.

I've been buying(and throwing out) printers since l995, and this is the best one yet! I'm a very critical person, but this printer is absolutely top drawer in all respects. WE do a lot of video publishing, ([...]) and the glossy promo literature/displays that go with the business - and this printer beats commercial printing. The reproductions are simply stunning -- and the inks last a long long time. We're currently into 50 DVD's and there's still 1/2 tank of inks showing on the monitor. If you print directly on DVD's this is the printer you MUST own. The inks are dry when the DVD emerges from the holder, the registration is right on. The included software for label creation is sub-par, but for $21 get a copy of Acoustica's DVD-label program. It works great with the printer, and is easy to use. Conclusion: forget all the other junk out there. HP's 7560 is the way to go. I don't know how they do it for the price.
HP Photosmart D7560 is smart2009-06-23
I am happy with my new HP D7560 printer. I bought it to primarily print black and white pictures. My main printer is a zerox Paser solid ink - the colors are fantastic, but I can't get a good black and white picture. I am very pleased with the black and white pictures the Photosmart D7560 prints. The pictures have wonderful quality and for the price this printer can't be beat. It is also really simple to use. I stongly recommend this printer.

I purchased this printer to replace my old Photosmart HP 7550 because I now have Vista and the drivers for the HP 7550 wasn't compatable. There were minor features (HP 7550) that worked on windows xp, but not vista. Anyway, I loved my HP 7550 and this was the replacement model. The HP D7560 meets beyond my expectations. Great photos and ink drys superfast. I would highly recommend this printer. You can even download your pictures on to cd/dvd without a computer. Way to go HP, you did it again.
