Worst printer I have ever owned
2009-12-21This printer does one thing reasonably well, and that is print a photograph. For any other use, it is a huge step backwards in the science of computer peripherals. The properties interface is poorly designed, as if the programmer were on a hangover, or (more likely the case) the programming and software for this printer was written by college students in another country to save money for HP. Speaking of money, if you plan on using this printer for more than an occasional document (not even mentioning a photograph here), you will end up spending the cost of the printer in ink, twice yearly. I am actually looking forward to throwing this printer out, and I will before I buy any additional ink. Also, the HP software is a drain on resources, and is set to constantly check for updates, and to monitor your use of the printer and send it to HP, i.e. a privacy issue to say the least.

Pretty Good, but
2009-12-16I purchased this almost entirely for printing photographs. It was purchased because my HP 1000 died. Since it was also not compatable with Vista, instead of repair I decided it was time to treat myself with a new printer. Since I am not active in photo clubs to get advice, selecting which printer to buy was not easy. Because of the rating the 7560 received on photo printing, I decided it was the way I should go.
One of the negatives listed in other reviews was the lack of a cable to hookup the printer with the computer. That was not a problem for me as I have computer cords laying all over the place. (Yes, I'm one of those guys that doesn't throw anything out.)
Other reviews indicated problems with setup, but I followed the instructions and had no problem.
What I have struggled with has been the color and brightness of the photo prints I've made. My old 1000 pretty much gave me what I say on my screen, that hasn't been the case with the 7560. There are enough controls that have allowed be to make changes so that what I get pretty well matches the screen, but it took quite a number of prints to learn those settings. Also, those settings are not remembered from one session to another. Reset or get a funky print.
All in all, it's okay but I wish I had my old 1000 back.

Efficient printer
2009-11-27This printer was easy to set up, and is Mac-compatible. It's not wireless, but if that's not an issue for you, I would definitely recommend this item. The print quality is phenomenal for the price, and it was also surprisingly quiet.

A great photo printer for the money
2009-11-24This is the 4th HP printer I have owned and it is about the best in quality. I purchased it mainly for the picture printing and ability to directly label
CD and DVD's. For what I wanted, it is just right. The unit seems to go through alot of mechanical functions when first turned on and the startup is long.
The quality of the print jobs is superior. I am somewhat disappointed with the ink consumption, but I get around it by using my other HP for the more routine print jobs. The cost of replacement ink is pretty high compared with other HP units. This printer is loaded with features. Direct printing from memory cards is pretty neat. All in all, I am very happy with this unit and would recommend it for photo and labeling jobs. Use a cheaper printer if you are doing batch printing or just black and white letters and handouts.

Sorry I ordered them.
2009-11-23I ordered 2 HP D7560 Photosmart printers. I have a D7460 that I love, so I expected these to be at least as good, if not better. Boy, was I disappointed! The first one wouldn't finish the setup process and made horrible screeching noices when the printer was printing either documents or photos. The 2nd one didn't want to finish the setup process either, but I finally got it to finish by turning the power off and on a couple of times. By the way, HP Customer Service says don't plug this printer into a power strip because it won't get enough power--plug it directly into the wall only! Sounds strange to me as my D7460 has always run perfectly through a power strip. The setup instructions do not make it clear about plugging it only into the wall. Anyway, the 2nd D7560 made a loud clunking noise as it printed out each piece of paper. It made me cringe because it sounded like the paper was going to jam every time even though it didn't. I never could get either printer to work satisfactorily, so I sent both of them back. I found another D7460 and ordered that. I haven't gotten it yet, but hopefully it will work as well as my other D7460. This is my first bad experience with HP printers and I've had quite a few of them. Hopefully I just got a couple of bad ones.
