Philips GC3232 Steam Iron

I have had this iron for 8 months and I loved it. The new soleplate is great and although you have to fill the water tank frequently, I didn't mind this. It is now faulty. Water is now pouring out of the steam holes even though the iron is turned up to max temp. On contacting Philips, I have been told to take it to a service centre who have told me if it needs a part I could wait weeks. What use is that to a busy mum? I will also need to take 2 days off work to take it there and then collect it. I now have to buy another iron as I have piles of clothes waiting. Due to this I would not recommend this iron.

The iron is great, not too heavy, not too light. It makes short work of all my ironing, and gets creases out that my other iron didn't. The delivery was fast. the best thing was that my friend had brought an identical one, and paid £39.99 for hers!Where I paid only £26.99. so I have a great iron, at a great price. Amazon is by far the best web site I have ever used. Keep up the good work.

Bought this after my last iron gave up the ghost after many years faithful service. A revelation - I would have upgraded sooner if I'd known what a difference it'd make. This one's a beauty: 9ft cord, a brilliant hotplate that just glides over clothes and gets the deeper wrinkles from line-dried items out, plus very good steam pressure - perfect for both ironing on a board, or when you're just steaming out creases in jackets etc on hangers.

Highly recommended: It's made my Sunday night ironing sessions tolerable. Would have given it a full 5 stars, but the price has gone up since I bought it.
