Tefal Avanti Deluxe Toaster, 4 Slice, Chrome and Black

Had this toaster about a year now and have had no problems with it so far. It is quite large I suppose but it fits nicely into our kitchen and I don't really notice it much anymore. The slots are a good size - take hovis thick sliced bread perfectly and the high rise lever that pushes the toast up a bit more when you want to get it out is very useful for bagels and teacakes etc. We use the button to toast from frozen quite often which i think toasts it for longer at a lower temp. Not completely sure on that but it seems to work well. All in all this is a perfectly good toaster. Looks very nice in my opinion and cleans up well.

We were given an Avanti 4 slice toaster for Christmas 2007. Half of the slots packed up by August. We e-mailed the support site and received no reply. We called the support site and were informed that because the model that we were gieven was actually masde in January 2007 we would not be supplied with a replacement. The TEFAL repair service would likely charge £100+, so this toaster is now toast.

I have to agree with the less than favourable reviews. After 8 months one of the arms refuses to stay down so it is now only a two-sice toaster. My first and last Tefal Avanti !!

Looks nice, if a bit bulky.. Toasts well.

HOWEVER, mine's just died after about 9 months of light use which isn't remotely satisfactory. Last week one of the arms stopped staying down, and today the other one ceased to retain bread product too. Upon disassembly, couldn't see anything mechanical wrong (which was a surprise because I thought it'd be fixable) and I can't be bothered to try to sort out an electrical fault so in the bin it goes!

I have a wife who lives on toast which means we tend to replace toasters on a regular basis.Then a couple of years ago,we purchased a Tefal 4 slice toaster and were delighted with it.Then at xmas,we had a pipe burst and water got into the Tefal.We purchased a cheap replacement but it was useless.We then purchased a well-known brand and we were impressed.However,we decided we wanted our Tefal back and purchased this model.It's superb,toasts perfectly and is great value for money.There are other good ones out there but this is the best.Buy and enjoy.
